Data Recovery Process

We wanted to give you a breakdown of our recovery process. That way you’ll know what to expect from us along the way and what you need to do to keep the process moving along!

Step One: Contact

HardDriveDataRescue offers a wide variety of recovery services for affordable, flat-rate prices for any type of media or device. We have over 40 locations nationwide, each with convenient pick-up and drop-off options to make getting your media to us as easy as possible. Our 24/7 emergency services ensure that you’ll always be able to get a hold of us for assistance, whether it’s a day, night, or weekend. You can contact us via phone, email, or through our website.

Step Two: Diagnose

Before you commit to anything, we'll run full diagnostics on your media. This is done on the same day your media gets to us, and it is 100% free. Our diagnostics will let us know what’s going on with your device and how complex your recovery will be. Once we’ve completed all testing, we’ll contact you with a detailed diagnostics report.

Step Three: Quote

Once our diagnostics testing has let us know what’s going on with your media, we’ll know what needs to be done in order to recover your data. Along with your diagnostics report, we’ll give you a quote and an expected turnaround time. All our prices are flat-rate, meaning what we quote you at this time is what the entire recovery will cost-no hidden fees or surprise charges later on.

Step Four: Customer Agreement and Payment Set Up

We want to make absolutely sure that you know what we’ll be doing with your media and how much it will cost before we begin working on your recovery. This means, you have to agree to the quote and timeframe we send to you before we can move forward and supply us with a valid credit card to put on file for payment. Don’t worry, we won’t charge your credit card until the recovery is complete and final approval has been given. You can get this information to us by replying to the diagnostics report and price quote email we sent you, by calling us and giving us your case number, or by contacting your sales rep directly. Either way, we must have written or verbal agreement from you before we begin the recovery process, as well as a valid credit card on file. Failure to give us permission to begin your recovery will result in your case being canceled and your media being returned to you.

Step Five: Recovery

After you give us the go-ahead, we'll begin your data recovery process. Using state-of-the-art technology and advanced recovery software, our ely by experienced engineers technicians will work hard to safely and efficiently recover your data. Plus, your data will remain 100% confidential and secure inside our secure facilities. During this time you will receive regular updates on the status of your recovery. If you have any questions, contact your sales rep or get in touch with us directly via phone or email.

Step Six: Review and Approval

Once the recovery process is complete, you'll get a chance to look over the data we've recovered. We’ll send you a detailed report of all data that was able to be recovered from your media or device. Before we can finalize your case and send the recovered data and any device you sent to us back to you, we’ll need another approval from you. You can give us this approval by replying to our most recent email, calling us, or getting in touch with your sales rep.

Step Seven: Payment and Delivery

After you approve the recovery, we’ll charge your credit card for the recovery price previously quoted to you as well as any additional parts or hardware you may have purchased from us. After that’s done, we'll get your media back to you using your preferred shipping or pick-up method. We have a variety of options for transferring recovered data as well as options on how to get it back to you. You can also choose to purchase new hardware, like hard drives, from us or in one of our convenient retail locations.

And, remember, with our No Data-No Charge policy, if we didn't recover the required data then you aren't responsible for any labor costs! Any replacement parts purchased during the recovery are not subject to our no data-no charge policy and we still be billed to you, even if you don’t accept and purchase the recovery.
